Got questions?

Hydronics Unlocked is built with heating engineers in mind, but it's valuable for anyone who wants a better understanding of how heating systems work. Designers, surveyors, technical managers, manufacturers and trainers can all benefit from the practical framework it provides.

You don't need any prior hydronics training, but you should have a basic understanding of heating systems and how wet heating systems operate.

Hydronics Unlocked assumes you're already familiar with common heating system components such as radiators, pumps and controls. If you're new to the heating industry, we'd recommend starting with Hydronics Foundations before progressing to Hydronics Unlocked.

Manufacturer training typically focuses on a specific product and how to install, commission and troubleshoot it. Hydronics Unlocked is brand and technology neutral, focusing on the system itself.

Hydronics Unlocked complements manufacturer training by helping engineers understand how heating systems work, regardless of the appliance installed. That's why manufacturers such as Ideal Heating have partnered with Warmur Academy to bring both perspectives together.

Your enrolment includes six months of access to Hydronics Unlocked, enough time to work through the modules, complete the exercises and revisit concepts as you apply them on site.

To support ongoing learning, we're launching a low-cost annual subscription that gives you continued access to course materials, resources and future training content.

Hydronics Unlocked is completely self-paced. You can work through the modules whenever it suits you, revisiting lessons, exercises and assessments as often as needed during your access period.

Hydronics Unlocked is self-paced, so completion time will vary depending on your availability and learning style. You'll have six months of access to complete the course and revisit modules as needed.

Yes. For the best learning experience, we recommend using a tablet or desktop device, particularly for some of the interactive content.

Hydronics Unlocked follows the complete hydronic design process, from heat loss and system layout through to flow rates, pipe sizing, emitters, system resistance, pumps, balancing and controls. Rather than teaching these as separate topics, the course follows our 10 Step Hydronics, a practical framework that helps you understand how each part of the system connects and how to apply that knowledge on real jobs.

Yes. Hydronics Unlocked covers the hydronic principles that apply to both boilers and heat pumps. The course focuses on system design rather than any specific appliance, helping you understand how flow, resistance, emitters, pumps and controls influence performance across both technologies. Where there are important differences between boilers and heat pumps, these are explained within the relevant modules.

Yes. Hydronics Unlocked is built around real-world heating systems and practical decision-making. Each module combines theory, worked examples, exercises and scenarios designed to help you apply what you've learned in practice.

Yes. The final stages of the 10 Steps to Hydronics focus on commissioning, including pump checks, balancing and controls. The aim is to help you apply the design decisions and calculations you've made earlier in the process on a real system, so you can verify that it's operating as intended.

Hydronics Unlocked brings much of Kimbo's two-day course into an online experience, reorganised around the 10 Steps Hydronics and with a recognised low temperature qualification. Developed with a leading learning specialist, it teaches hydronics in the order you'd use it on real jobs, supported by exercises, scenarios and assessments that help turn knowledge into practice.

Subject to successfully completing the course and final online assessment, you'll receive an Award in Low Temperature Heating and Hot Water Systems. This qualification is accredited by UK Certification and recognised by MCS. The qualification covers the knowledge required to design low temperature heating and hot water systems for boiler and heat pump applications, in line with Building Regulations and MCS standards.

Warmur Academy Ltd is an approved centre for the purpose of achieving an award in Low Temperature Heating and Hot Water Systems as accredited by UK Certification.

Yes — structured training with an assessed qualification outcome is recognised as formal CPD by most professional bodies. We'd recommend checking your own membership body's logging criteria, but completion of Hydronics Unlocked gives you a verified qualification you can cite directly.

Not on its own. A recognised qualification in low temperature heating and hot water systems is one part of the overall installer journey to becoming an MCS installer. See the MCS website for more information: becoming MCS certified

Hydronics Unlocked costs £495 ex VAT per learner.

Anyone can start Hydronics Unlocked. If you're completely new to thinking about hydronics, there can be benefits to getting an overview by taking Hydronics Foundations first, but it is not a requirement. You can lock in a discount by purchasing both together. See Total Hydronics

We've developed Hydronics Unlocked to be as accessible as possible. Learners typically need to be able to use a calculator to perform simple calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). In the rare instance that a more complex calculation is required, care has been taken to step the learner through how to complete the calculation correctly.

Warmur Academy makes use of the Skools platform for supporting learners during their journey.
